ከፊታችን ባለው በስቅለት በዓል፣ በዮናስ እና በኢየሱስ ታሪክ ስለታየው ወሰን የለሽ የእግዚአብሔር ምሕረት ትርጉም ያለው ምልከታ እንዲኖረን በቤዛ ቤተክርስቲያን ተጋብዛችኋለች።
ለምን ዮናስ? በስቅለት?
ዮናስ የነነዌ ሰዎች ከጥፋታቸው እንዲመለሱ እንዲያስጠነቅቅ ከእግዚአብሔር የተላከ ሰው ነበር፤ ይህንም ካደረጉ እግዚአብሔር ይቅር እንደሚላቸው ያውቅ ነበር። ምህረት እንደማይገባቸው በማሰቡ ይህንን መልእክት ማስተላለፍ አልፈለገም ነበር። ኢየሱስ ልክ እንደ ዮናስ የእግዚአብሔርን የምሕረት መልእክት ለማድረስ መጣ። ነገር ግን እንደ ዮናስ ሳይሆን፣ ኢየሱስ ለተልእኮው ታማኝ ነበር፣ እናም በሞቱ እና በትንሳኤው፣ ለሁሉም ይቅርታን በመስጠት የመጨረሻውን ምሕረት አሳይቷል።
የእግዚአብሔር ምሕረት
• ምልክቱ፡ የዮናስ ታሪክ ኢየሱስን ያመለክታል። የመስቀሉ ስራ የእግዚአብሔር የመጨረሻ የምሕረት ምልክት ነው።
• መልእክቱ፡ በኢየሱስ ስቅለት የተገለጠው የእግዚአብሔር ምሕረት ለሁሉም ነው። ንስሐ ወደ እርሱ ይመልሰናል።
• ምላሻችን፡ ኢየሱስ በመስቀሉ ስራ ማስታረቅን አቅርቧል፣ እኛም ምህረቱን ለመቀበል እና ለሌሎች ይቅርታን እንድንሰጥ ተጠርተናል።
የሕይወትን ትርጉም እየፈለግክ፣ ወይም ከእምነት ጋር እየታገልክ፣ ወይም ቤቴ ብለህ የምትጠራው ማህበረሰብ እየፈለግክ ከሆነ ና፣ ነይ። ከስቃይ ጥልቀት የሚወጣውን ጥልቅ ተስፋ እና በክርስቶስ ትንሳኤ የሚመጣውን ህይወት ለመቀበል ኑ። ለመስቀሉ መልዕክት ምላሽ ለመስጠት ኑ።

WHY JONAH? ON GOOD FRIDAY?
Jonah was a man sent by God to warn the people of Nineveh to turn away from their wrongdoings, knowing that if they did, God would forgive them. He didn’t want to deliver this message because he thought they didn’t deserve mercy. Jesus, like Jonah, came to deliver a message of mercy from God. Unlike Jonah, Jesus was faithful to His mission, and through His death and resurrection, He showed the ultimate mercy by offering forgiveness to everyone.
THE MERCY OF GOD
• THE SIGN: Jonah is a sign that pointed to Jesus. The cross is God’s ultimate sign of mercy.
• THE MESSAGE: God’s mercy revealed through the crucifixion of Jesus is for everyone. Repentance brings us back to Him.
• THE RESPONSE: Jesus offers reconciliation, and we are called to receive, and extend mercy to others.
